Quantum GIS includes the “GPS tools” plugin connecting Quantum GIS with Global

Positioning system (GPS) receivers for example the ''Garmin'' devices. This feature offers

you the possibility to download or upload waypoints, routes and tracks. Please enable

the GPS Tools plugin using {{mitem|text=Plugins → Plugin Manager}}.

Before starting it is important to enable {{button|text=On the fly projection}} under {{mitem|text=Settings → Project → Properties}} and set the projection to the coordinate system Gauss-Krüger. Your GPS data

will automatically be reprojected from latitude, longitude, WGS84 to Gauss-Krüger.
