In mensuration, three angles are important:

  • Elevation angle
    Specifying the elevation of a distance
  • Azimuth or direction angle
    Angle that is constructed by a distance and a defined direction (in geodesy mostly a north direction)
  • Angle of refraction
    Angle constructed by two distances
