"All trees that have the center of their base inside the plot area are sample trees and are being measured." Is this a general, universal rule? Why is the base of the tree defined as the reference height? In Bitterlich sampling it would be DBH height, right? So, why not use DBH height also as a refernce height in fixed area plots?
